Flavio Ferraria has given an interview to Italian site "TuttoMercatoWeb" in which he says he hasn't heard of the reported interest from Bundesliga side Hamburg until now, they are evaluating interest from France, Germany and Italy but are unsure as to whether anyone can afford his salary, sounding familar eh?

Arsenal look to Aurier to replace Sagna.

French portal FootMercato are reporting that Arsenal have joined Lyon and Monaco in the chase for Toulouse right-back Serge Aurier. It's claimed that Arsenal have watched the right-back in the last few months.

Ter Stegen says No to Arsenal, Inter.

Spanish daily AS are reporting that Arsenal and Inter Milan have made offers for Borussia Moenchengladbach's highly rated goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen. ter Stegen has supposedly rejected these advances with Barcelona looking favourites to replace the departing Victor Valdes.

Betis want either Coquelin or Frimpong on loan

Spanish site estadiodeportivo.com are reporting that Real Betis are preparing for the loss of midfielder Jose Canas by actively courting Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin on loan. This looks to be near impossible in January as Mikel Arteta's injury has thrust Coquelin into the spotlight, but through intermediaries, Emmanuel Frimpong has now been targeted for a loan move to the Spanish club.

Bild in Germany are running with the story and some leaked quotes that Hannover are seriously interested in signing Arsenal's out-of-favour defender Johan Djourou." Djourou will be with Gojko Kacar, the second defensive reinforcement" was the unnamed quote.

Arsenal to scout Parma starlet Acquah in ACN.

Press in Africa and Europe have it on good authority that Arsenal will take keen interest in Parma's Ghanaian midfielder Afriyie Acquah in January's African Cup of Nations. Acquah has been likened to Michael Essien by Roma's Director of Football Walter Sabatini. Acquah is new to the Black Stars lineup, only making his debut in February.





Arsenal send scouts to watch Montpellier ace Cabella


Reports in France suggest that both Arsenal and Manchester United are keen on playmaker Remy Cabella, of League Champions Montpellier. It's understood that both teams had scouts watching Cabella in the 3-2 win in the Coupe De La Ligue against Nice. Cabella impressed in the game, scoring after 30 minutes to make the game 1-1.

Serbian news outlet Novosti are reporting that Inter Milan have made Udinese's Serbian full-back Dusan Basta top priority. According to the piece, the two clubs have already met to discuss the deal and both are keen to make it happen in January.

Yawn....Arsenal linked with move for......Ricardo Alvarez....AGAIN!


Just had to check what month and year I'm in but Italian gossip site "Tuttomercatoweb" are reporting Arsene Wenger has "convinced the leadership" that Ricardo Alvarez of Inter is the player for him. You'll remember Alvarez from the tug of war between Inter and Arsenal the summer before last which was special guest refereed by Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini.....I call BS on this one.

Arsenal scouting Bochum starlet Goretzka.


German source derwesten.de are reporting that Arsenal had scouts watching 17-year old Bochum midfielder Leon Goretzka in their 0-0 draw with 1860 Munich on Friday Night. Manchester United and Everton are also supposed to have had scouts watching the youngster who has represented Germany from U-16 to U-19.

Juve begin talks with Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa say French Reports


Notoriously unreliable French website "Le10Sport" have reported that Juventus have opened negotiations with French International Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa of Montpellier. Yanga-Mbiwa, who Arsenal bid for before deadline day, only has one year left on his contract. AC Milan are also highly interested and while they have agreed personal terms, the clubs valuation of the player did not meet. Also said that AC Milan are considering Marseille's Nicolas N'Koulou.

Law "can't confirm or deny" late interest in Van Der Wiel


Dutch Daily Algemeen Dagblad have run with a story linking Arsenal with a late move for Ajax right-back Gregory Van Der Wiel. With Arsenal looking for right-back cover extensively through this window, the Dutch press have managed to get quotes attributed to Mr Law in which he says he "cannot confirm or deny" interest leading to a bid and goes on to say "We don't talk about transfer issues"

Arsenal agree £1m fee with Forest for Henri Lansbury
The Telegraph are reporting this lunchtime that Nottingham Forest have agreed a £1m fee for Arsenal midfielder Henri Lansbury. Lansbury's highlight at Arsenal was the opening goal in the Carling Cup Demolition of Tottenham but has struggled to make an impact on the first team squad, resulting in loan moves to Norwich and West Ham.

Chelsea scout Arsenal target Yanga-Mbiwa

It's being reported on Mercato365 (Usually good on this type of thing) that Chelsea had a scout watching Arsenal target Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa in Montpellier's 1-0 home defeat to Marseille, report says Chelsea are also considering Maitja Nastasic of Fiorentina. With Chelsea's depth in defence I find it unlikely but with them, you never know.

Arsenal enquire about Burdisso - But Told "Non"

Calciomercato in Italy are reporting that Arsenal enquired to representatives of Roma defender Nicolas Burdisso about a move to the Premier League, but were told a firm "no" as the defender is happy to remain in the Italian Capital.
